SUPPORT CHEAP & TASTY HAWKER FOOD!

Hello all,

In view of the blatant inflation caused by conglomerates bidding ridiculously high for shop spaces, forcing lessees and tenants to pay very high rents and thus, charge very high prices for food products.

Whenever you see a certain Hawker Centre being torn down for renovations- It bodes BAD news for the poor and the middle class, and it means more riches for the already rich.

It means you will no longer pay $2.00 for your same plate of noodles. It will increase to $3-$7 for the same bowl of noodles, and some even lesser in quantity.

Ultimately, the majority of the citizens get poorer, having to fork out many 100 percent more for their food while the capitalistic rich gets even richer, as it doesnt bother him that he bidded very high for the property: As all his costs are passed down to the tenants and the tenants are forced to increase their food price to the ultimate consumers.

And what happens when they cause these financial hardship to the masses? They get awarded with some Bullshit 'Entrepreneurial award' for getting even more rich at the expense of the middle and lower class (ie. Koufu)

Well, that is Singapore, and that is capitalism. Well, these rich conglomerates will defend their indecent windfall by saying they bring comfort, cleaner and airconditioned environment to the masses, but if you ask me, I'D RATHER STICK WITH THE $2.00 PLATE OF NOODLES & 70CENTS DRINK, rather than pay $5.00 for a bowl of noodles & $1.70 for a ridiculous cup of ice lemon tea.

Well, to show support for the last surviving hawker centres in Singapore, here are some honest hawkers selling food very cheap and in very reasonable quantity:

In my earlier posts, I have provided several CDCs for needy families and individuals to seek help, which can be a bit tricky given that there are so many CDCs in Singapore. However, all you need to do now is just call ONE TELEPHONE NUMBER :

Justice Bao Gong: Protest Against Buddha Bar

A couple of hundred Buddhist students held a peaceful protest outside an outlet of the international franchise Buddha Bar in Jakarta, Indonesia, as it has sacrilegiously used Buddha's name beside the word 'bar', which is a word associated with alcohol, and avoiding alcohol is the Fifth Holy Precept of Buddhism. Some of the students held up banners showing "Strip off Buddhist symbols from Buddha Bar" and called for the bar to be shut.

Budhha Bar has every right to carry on operations, but they should NOT display BUDDHIST SYMBOLS and they should NOT USE THE WORD 'BUDDHA' in their brand name.

If you are unable to work, or temporarily unable to work, or unable to work due to disability, old age or sickness, you can obtain the attached financial help from the related Government agencies.

There are also a whole list of other very useful ASSISTANCE SCHEMES for the POOR and the less fortunate, a very much appreciated initiative from the Singapore Government. More details can be obtained at the following website. You may contact them or your nearest Community Development Council (CDC) to ask for assistance :

Life is a paradise for a fortunate few who soak in the sea of plenty, but for the vast majority, many are drowning in the ocean of poverty. But worry not, as there are always help available. Many thanks to the Singapore Government who have made the necessary plans and safety net for the really poor to obtain financial assistance.

It is the middle class that will find life very hard in Singapore, because many of the middle class will NOT be eligible for these financial assistance. You will have to be very very poor in order to obtain these financial assistance.

Another way to help the squeezed middle class is probably reduce the cost of living in Singapore, or rather, reduce FOOD INFLATION. Hawker food prices has been drastically increasing with no let down in prices and something must be done. In future posts, we will highlight good hearted hawkers who sell their food and drinks cheap, unlike those Kopitiam, Koufu monopolies who sell ridiculously high prices for their drinks and food.

You can obtain further information at this website:
http://www.ncss.org.sg/home/index.asp

* The above information is only a short summary of assistance available. For full details and conditions that apply, do contact your nearest CDC for clarification. The contents and opinions stated in this website are solely from Mulia of justicebaogong and we are publishing this in the hope of reaching out to the families and individuals who are truly in need so as to enable them to find the financial help that they may urgently need.

Justice Bao Gong: Who's Causing the JAM? Part 2: Taxi HOGGERS

Below are Taxis CAUGHT BLOCKING AMBULANCES & CAUSING TRAFFIC JAMS BY HOGGING THE EXTREME RIGHT LANE & REFUSING TO KEEP LEFT:

The below taxi was blocking the ambulance for quite some stretch along the CTE until he saw us standing on the bridge with the camera and started to filter left. Shortly after, another taxi from the same company turned right and cut into the path of the ambulance, despite the ambulance's flashing lights!

This white ROADHOGGING Taxi is holding up traffic in CTE. All the whole trail of cars behind him cannot overtake as he is hogging the extreme right lane.

Yet another ROADHOGGING blue taxi BLOCKING everyone's way in the CTE and thus causing slow moving traffic as vehicles behind cannot overtake because of these hoggers.

Another taxi (yellow colour) causing us to pay HIGHER ERP charges because of his ROADHOGGING. Notice all the frustrated vehicles behind him who are trying to overtake but are unable to because he is blocking the extreme right lane AND GOING SLOWER THAN THE LORRY in the middle lane.

Yet another ROADHOGGING Taxi HOGGING the extreme right lane, causing traffic JAM. Drivers behind this ROADHOGGING taxi cannot overtake because taxi refuse to keep left & is driving slower than the traffic on the centre lane.

If you have been wondering why you are paying higher ERP Charges, now you know why. In future posts, their number plates will be revealed so that the public knows who are these inconsiderate drivers BLOCKING AMBULANCES and CAUSING TRAFFIC JAMS BY HOGGING THE EXTREME RIGHT LANE & REFUSING TO KEEP LEFT.

Send us your comments on what solutions you have to ease the JAMs on the expressway and how to SAVE more LIVES by enabling ambulances to move more freely on the roads.

Your humble servant of
Justice Bao Gong

Motorcycle Deaths: Do Not Hog the Right Lane

Good day fellow motorists,

There has been a recent spate of fatal motorcycle accidents which are alarming. Amidst Singapore's growing population of humans and vehicles, life is getting more and more stressful, hectic and fast paced. Everyone is rushing, to work, to home, to make ends meet, rushing to find the next pay cheque to pay the bills. As such, motorcyclists have to be very careful on the roads because plenty of vehicles are in a hurry.

If you are a slow or new rider, some GOOD ADVICE would be to KEEP LEFT and avoid the extreme right lane, especially so if your motorcycle is a small capacity bike, which lacks the torque and power to out accelerate the mass of cars on the roads.

An example of a motorcyclist endangering his own life would be the below biker road hogging the extreme right lane. If the car driver is impatient and is trying to overtake, the biker is placing himself at risk because the driver behind is in a hurry and wants to overtake as soon as possible but is unable to because the bike is hogging the extreme right lane. As such, there is a possibility that the car may just try to overtake anyway with whatever space he can find and squeeze the biker off the lane, causing danger to the motorcyclist.

As bikers, we should have the responsibility to take care of our own safety. So the best bet would be to AVOID HOGGING the right lane and KEEP LEFT.

With regards to cars driving fast (Not much opportunity to do so now in Singapore), the Traffic Police is just waiting to book them. Our problem in Singapore is that Traffic Police do not seem to be interested in booking ROAD HOGGERS, thus contributing to the already bad problem of congestion and higher ERP charges.

This would lead us to our future topic of Singapore's FUTURE: What lies ahead for the next generation. Bookmark (Ctrl D) us to keep updated of our latest posts.
